The Boeing 787 Dreamliner series offers the 787-3, 787-8, and 787-9. The above specifications are for the 787-3, which features a structure and wings designed for shorter-range. The plane uses approximately 20 percent less fuel than other airplanes of its size. Boeing was given authority to off the 787-3 and 787-9 in 2003 and certification with entry into service in 2010. The 787-8 started assembly in 2006 with its first flight in 2007. Certification with entry into service in 2008.

The 787-8 and 787-9 offer a larger wing span (197 feet and 203 feet respectively) and longer maximum range (8,200 miles and 8.500 miles respectively). The 787-9 is also longer at 206 feet. The 787-8 and 787-9 have smaller maximum passenger capacities at 250 and 290 respectively.
